    Problem with quadradrive

Hey guys. My 02 Overland- when its cold out, and only at night for whatever reason, the passenger side front tire grabs. I think something weird is going on in the front diff or transfer case. It does it whether its slippery or not until things get warmed up a bit. Could a little water in the diff or xfer case be causing this? It vibrates pretty good, likely because its grabbing on dry pavement.

If anyone has anything to try, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Rick

Caliper starting to seize up? Or a CV at the knuckle going south causing bind?

I've had drum brakes "freeze up" before even during warmer temperatures but not disc brakes.
Is the tire skidding when you pull away from a stop? Does it free itself?
I'd have to guess too that your disc brake pads are literally freezing to the rotor.
just my two cents...take it for what its worth...

It doesn't feel like "grabbing" in the sense that its not turning, it feels like its grabbing on the road surface, like its using 4WD, but shouldn't be because its dry and bare.

It does eventually "let go", sometimes harder than others. It feels like a bit of a lurch forward, and then everything is smooth again. Before it lets go, there is a growling noise somewhere, and it pulls pretty strongly to the right.

Is it when just turning or even when going straight? Transfer case is more of an issue when warmed up and the steering turned. Is yours eqquiped with the Vari lock diff? If so, was the right diff fluid and additive used( 75-w-140 synthetic and diff additive).

I notice it mainly when going straight. It just wants to pull to the right. When it finally stops, its like a lurch and then normal, the pulling goes away. I guess I'll have to swap the fluid out, I don't know when it was done last anyway. QD does have the vari-locks, yeah.

    Thanks for your replies guys.
