there are a few direct bolt in. I believe the seats from a GMC safari or Astro van are direct bolt in. I put XJ seats in mine. But to do so you have to modify the seat mount brackets. I cut 3" out of the seat bracket so I could get the seat at normal hieght.
WARNING! I am about to do something really fawking STUPID!!!!!!

I have read repeatedly that Sunfire/Caviler seats are a near bolt in, requiring a little hogging out of the rear mount hole in some cases (about an inch).

Personally, I'm going with a set of Ford Contour seats. It looks like the passenger is a bolt in, and the drivers shouldn't be too much work.

They're black leather, comfy, compact, lubar support, power, cheap and plentiful at the wrecker.

And a built in arm rest!!!

AS OF RIGHT NOW, I AM WORKING OUT A THEORY THAT THE '87-'90 YJ SEAT RISERS AND SLIDERS DO NOT DIRECT BOLT TO THESE SEATS. ONLY '91-'95 YJS WORK WITH THE SWAPS. I WILL ADD MORE LATER WHEN I FIGURE OUT EXACTLY WHAT THE ISSUE IS. I AM SORRY IF OTHERS PREVIOUSLY HAVE HAD BAD LUCK GETTING THESE TO WORK.

    [edit]Notes
Most people who install the Sunfire/Cavalier/Sunbird seats use some sort of spacer with the rear bolts to raise the back up about 1/2". IF you do this, replace the OEM bolt with Grade 8 hardware due to the "Potential Shear Load" on that bolt.
There also seems to be some issues with the the different year Cavi seats. Some have good luck, some need to drill some holes. I will be trying to get some definate info on them in the next few weeks.

I really have to get going on my build.

When I do I'll definitely post pics.

five things stand in my way:

    1. money
    2. unheated garage
    3. two little kids
    4. in the middle of renos on the house
    5. just went through a major surgery where I flat-lined three times. No, there's no light at the end of the tunnel, and I did not see flames either LOL. The worst part is the wife was eight months pregnant at the time.
