^ thanks Max.... that is an awesome Ideal. I wonder how difficult it would be to make with about 15" of stroke?

as for the Yota box.... I may take you up on that. I have one coming from Forest... but if it arrives late.

what size bolts will I need for it Max? Also, would you like to come out with us on thursday evening?

    Out with the Old....

    in with the new....

    Purches...

Opted to double drill them so that I could choose if I wanted them in stock location or if I would move it back an inch... I can always change this if I have too many issues...

    Bung for the cover...

    spun it up at work.

    first fitting...

from here I set the pinion angle. and tacked the purches in place.

once the welding was done I painted the axle and installed it.

    Those pics will come later....

    But it looks killer.

The only thing that I need to change is the lowe shock mounts... they are most definately up too high.

they will need to be lowered by 2 inches.... maybe a bit more.

jak using a forklift to stuff drivers tire..then passengrs tire my front shaft is only traveling approx. 2.5 inches on the slip.. no I know under real world scenarios it will travel further..if you're a desingner you should have axcess to enough mathmatical knowledge to figure out just how far your axle will travel. lol...i used to date a mech. engineer...lol if I'm anywhere near right the amount your axle is "allowed " to travel should be limited to the length of your shackles + the diff. in length of your spring from arched to straight...does that make any sense at all...lol

for the record mine is shacle rev. no stretch unfortunatley..2.5 military wrapped springs, soa..now i have to learn to trust her all over again...lol

^ any pictures of the reversal? i woul like to see your shackle angles at ride height. as well as how you have tied it to your front end.

    thanks.

But I'm durious how that is all the stroke to get. everything, I have read and seen requires 12 - 15 inches minimum.

the length is required for when the pumpkin side drops out. the picture I posted earlier shows the reasoning. total would be the amount of travel from the shackle at rest to full droop + any flex from the spring to there is feels most comfortable hanging at full stretch.

that can add up to much more than 12" basied on how your set up. I figure that 12-15 would be suitable but If I can build the drive shaft capable of a longer stroke than why not. It will just benefit me.

i didnt build the reversal..it was already done to the frame i bought to replace mine after T-boning an acura at 85KM...bent my frame up and right 2-2.5 inches. If I were to do it I would have done it a little different and stretched her a little. i"ll grab a few celly pics tomorrow..can I post straight from puter or have i gotta upload to my webhost first?
Also I was gonna buy a front shaft from wood's but their "XC" slip only nets about 5 inches travel...amd after reading all this and seeing the bronco long slip i think i'm gonna build my own slip...maybe use the steering coupler out of a tractor trailer.. as it is approx the same dia. as the jeep slip and the splines are full contact for anywhere from 6-up to approx. 17 inches depending on which truck manufacture and model...truck wrecking yard here i come...lol
