Fawk Ya. Looks awesome Jimmy. With that skeleton even 3/16th should be overkill. I would concur with Sarge on the body mounts, at least till ya do up a cage to tie in. And oh ya, nice cancer.

I've decided that I'm going to replace the rubber mounts. I'm going to get some rubber from PA.

Today went well. Closed in the one side.

first order of bidness... Joo to Jeep...

thanks CaledoniaJeeper for the fine job of fitting the new peice

and thanks to Ledhead this was all possible

we got the one side closed in today. still a little welding to do but it looks good.

made a couple of adjustments to the braces.
(no worries... my eyes are closed)

    how it ended today.

and yes Curt... 3/16" I think would be overkill. I went with 16 guage sheet. it will dent but it... but the clearance is huge and I don't think I'll hit it very often.

I know your Dad probably made you use the grinder more than the welder...gotta make it look good you know!!!

Thanks Guys... things are moving along. todays progress....

I'll make my deadline. beter than 50% done now.

All in all the move looks like it will be 3" forward and the frame will be 1 1/4" shorter if you include 2" thick bumper. still need to "fine adjust" for lack of a better term the front pivot points of the springs.

But all in all I think things are progressing well.

    this morning...

    about 1/2 hour later...

    did some cleaning...

mocked up the front frame then tacked it in.

    end of tdday.

Thoughts on the steering box location?

I believe that I am chris. I need to come up with something purty first. it is strong the way it is, but as you have suggested there will be times that they will be under a ton of stress.

today was a semi productive day. put in 10 hrs today but ran out of gas tonight so the drivers side is yet to be completed. I spent time with the paint brush tonight and primered the frame. it needed to get done. so tomorrow... first thing. prax air.

    pics will come later.
