    Conversion Question

    Help
    I have a 1981 C/J with 304 auto and I have a good 1970 chev 350 that I want to swap
The tranny is a 999 dodge tranny
The question is what sort of parts do I need to switch
I'm pretty good at working on them have the shop etc.
Just not sure what I need and any tips to save from making mistakes
    Thanks
    Oyte

I'll know people will argue this but the AMC V8 engines are a POS design. You get them too hot, you cause the oil pump to self clearance the timing cover.... then you have crappy oil pressure when hot and end up with bearing issues. My 360 had this.... The engine still had excellent power and drivability but the rattles were there on start up. $275 for a new timing cover from Bulltear and the first time you overheat the engine, you are in the same predicament.

Just popped a 350 in front of my T18 so I'm not much help on swapping it to a 999 but take a look on Novak conversion website.... their knowledge database was excellent and got me through my swap without buying their adapter. I just had to buy a input bearing retainer and a pilot bearing from them.... and their customer service was excellent.
