    The Tweeter build

OK.....some of you seen my last XJ(2dr named Wilson.....so named cause that XJ and I had a love hate relationship....always fighting with one another...lol)

My newest build is a collection of parts that I took off Wilson and a contiuation of my quest for the perfect trail rig XJ(yes Sarge there is such a thing..lol)

Anyways....started out with a rock solid 87(yes there is such a thing Sarge...lol)XJ.....purchased from JPhenoix

    Then the tear down

    Bumper installed
    and some fender trimming

Which one of these things is not like the other....

Believe it or not...this is my Boss...lol....and this is his garage(cause mine is currently full of lovely things that my wife has decided need to go there while we unclutter the rest of the house)BTW...the other Jeep you see beside Tweeter is the boss's yet un-named project CJ that has full size cheby axles goin under it...anyways

Front end in(yes its short arm....long arm build not far behind)
They call me Monkey cause I'm the silver back of the bunch

    Now on to the backend

Yes its a D44 comming out...no you can't have it...lol...its for the wifes YJ

Another which one of these things is not like the other....

Lift springs(bastard packed via 2.5 inch YJ lifty main springs with eyes cut off...and MJ main leaf with eyes cut off...and MJ load leaf)

Unfreaking believable that the schackles just unbolted without any problems what so ever...this is my third XJ and I've never had that before....usually torches and cutting and all kinda swearing is involved...lol

My new Ubolts....got them for the 2" lift blocks that are goin in too...but see...I made a little wee error...when I got them made at the spring shop...I told them I needed 2.....I don't know why....and didn't even think about it till I was on my way home that day after they were closed...SO...get 2 more tommorow.....and get the blocks in

Gentley massaging the top plates cause the new Ubolts(had to use 2 new ones and 2 old ones) were a wee bit bigger than the old ones

And here is how Tweeter currently sits

Future build plans.....LongArm(after which I'll be lifting the front another 2inches)...RockSliders(along with frame bracing so I never get the folding taco frame syndrome again)...TireCarrierMounted to the rear bumper instead of the kind I currently have that goes into the trailor hitch)....and paint(going with Yellow and black stripes like the new Camaro's)....and if the funds hold out....RollCage

    Like I said...more to come

    Wow...

Great to see the old girl gettin new shoes and a beauty treatment! *L*

I miss it, but my life is much simpler now with fewer Jeeps. I hope she keeps surprising you with 'never happened before' moments. Hey, maybe the rear upper shock bolts will come out without a fight as well. *G*

If I was a Jeep, they'd have parted me out a LONG time ago.

I'm a proud member of SOXJA ask me why!

    WELLLL....
Been along time since i'd updated this thread...and a new acquasition(leave me alone..monkeys no have to speel) had made me think I should....
Last we left Tweeter he no had rear bumper and other odds and ends...

He has his Custom rear bumper on now...tank skids..front skids....
and I have purchased but not installed yet Frame stiffners from StanngFab
    Pics of those to come...

But I picked up this off of one of my County Peeps(FieroDude) and couldn't hold back anylonger...

Monkey is gonna build up some bigger axles and shave dem and run 40's....no more flying Ujoints for me(well ok maybe but this might lesson the chance)

This be a D60 ...late model Dodge so it don't have narrowed shafts and it has kingpin too....now to start the clean up and rebuild of it(gonna pick up a 14bolt to run outback)

Me pickin up some tub this winter and havin at the exterior(lookin ot Exo Tweeter)

Fun fun fun till the wifey took the bank card away

SO....haven't updated this in a couple years..lmao...mainly cause there was nothing to update...
But the big push is on now since new years...so here's some pics
As you can see...not muchy left of XJ...and might not even be keeping the back part still...depends on how rear seat mounting possiblities go and how suspension mounting goes
Waiting on ORIs to come in should only be a couple more weeks...
Should have the main cage finished mocking up tomorrow...then on to the back or the front(mounting for winch and rest of cage in front)
Yes there will be more supports for the boatsides btw...lol...was just to give an idea what was goin on
    The 15bolt conversion is mint...
I will be shaving the front Dana60 abit too...I can't have the back with more clearance than the front...

HEY...does this make me hardcore now...lmao

Well didn't end up shaving the 60...was only gonna net me about half an inch more clearance so decided wasn't worth it....worst case is I run bigger boots or have an excuse to build a 14bolt front and shave that to have better clearance than the 60 lol
Starting to come together....pics this weekend I promise
