    Re: yj stretch spring question

Subscribed! I'm wanting to do a stretch this spring and just so happen to have a Durango I'm parting out. If I could just use the rear leafs from it then that would be awesome!

I have xj springs. They work pretty good. Antiwrap bar is a must.

I also have a rear bumper with shackles to fit xj springs for sale.
May even have old xj springs somewhere.

with xj springs you leave the front mount stock and move your shackles back onto the bumper.
they move your axle back 6 in . so you need to remove your gas tank.

its just a 2x4 tube bumper with shackles on the bottom and flush receiver hitch.
pm me your email i can send you some pictures.

How much streach are you after? I used waggy springs an all 4 corners and got 2 inch streach 1" front and 1" rear. anymore than that and you need major work, ie fuel tank or steering etc.

ok so moving gas tank isnt a problem i have already did that. i do have an very heavy duty bumper so i will just use that. if i used dakota spring will front mount have to be moved? if so i will just do xj springs. i do already have anti wrap bar i just broke a brunch cuase of pinon angle so i want to lower a big and stretch to make angle better

What ever spring you choose to use for the stretch I would suggest that you redo the rear of the jeep to incorporate the bumper into the frame and make it solid. Unless your yj has a mint frame it will brake and cause a whole lot more issue.

I did mine differently with XJ springs. I designed some flex shackles that drop when flexing. I have no track bar and the axle doesnt seem to shift from side to side. A wrap bar was a must as springs are very soft.

I also did the pirate4x4 tank mod and didnt have to relocate it. So I still have my rear seats.

For being a leafer flex is not bad

Those are dirty... I may just steal this ideal! Are they act as a revolver shackle?

Princess Auto Bolt and nut. Welded the bolt in the square tube and nut to the other square tube. Hope this helps.
