This is what I did tonight.....

Finally rid of the excess water problem. Finally bit the bullet and bought a snorkel. No way am I buying another engine for stupidity.

    All parts laid out

before hacking, I mean cutting the hood

    these were tough to drill

cut and ready to fit the rest

    dry fitting the snorkel

    final product

looks great and I love it. Was really easy to put in once you get past the cutting your hood theory. In total it took about 2 hrs and that includes rethinking the hood drilling. Now I can wheel this weekend and not get any water in the engine. (not through there anyway) KNOCK WOOD!!!!!!!!

looks good ron. i still think the JK snorkels look a little bit dorky the way they run all the way up the the front. but if it works, it works. so now i won't be stuck behind you whall you bail out your air box loL

I can only imagine the stones required to cut a hood like that, god bless you sir. That's dedication.

Well I bought the Mopar / AEV version and the cheapest I ever found was $437 on line plus shipping & taxes. I bought this from work for $411 + taxes no shipping. I was hoping to get the River Raider that goes in the frnder and cuts through the wheel well but it was $520 + tax and shipping.

Either one beats $1500 for a new engine and I REALLY doubt I would ever find another deal like that last engine.

    Nice job!

I'm hesitant to cut up an old, rusty XJ. Slicing into a new JK takes stones I do not have.

If I was a Jeep, they'd have parted me out a LONG time ago.

I'm a proud member of SOXJA ask me why!

    Krawlerz team member too!
