So Im curious how many Dremel discs you went through? I used about 10 when I did mine but I cut a 2" hole on each side before i started the straight lines.

How did you waterproof the Jeep (Ie: electronics)? Are diff vents longer and also routed high inside the snorkel? Are you using an electric fan? Just wondering if it was for estetics, or what else you had to do, or are planning on doing to protect your Jeep...

i only used one diamond disc.... until it flew off..... then 2 cut off discs.....

at the moment it is only water proof ...... the diffs are still vented as regular.... as well same old fan.....

just a start to a project.....

Looks like a nice clean job. I wasn't critisizing, or anything. You gotta start somewhere.

I'd like to do a "water proofing" project on my Jeep someday. I was just asking, incase you did any other things that I haven't though of. I know that I'm still missing some things... I'd obviously need my own snorkle, or scuba gearl if I wanted to go as deep as your air breather is located for any long water crossings

Seriously though, I wonder if there is a way to determine how much deeper a Jeep can go during prolonged water crossings compared to same vehicle "non-protected"? ( I mean while maintaning traction and driveability prior to floatation issues). That snorkle alone has to be pretty helpful for those short and deep water holes that you plow in and out of when the water momentarily gets over the hood.

That snorkel does take some of the worry out of going through some of the bigger puddles and getting splashes up in the wrong place. I can vouch that a snorkel is a LOT less money than a new engine.

I try to remember to turn my fan off when ever I go as deep as my head lights, (or get goated by the kids into plowing through any big puddles like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua3Bg...eature=related

If I ever you do take in water and the engine quits (hydro locking without doing any damage), what do I do besides pulling the plugs and turning the engine over?
