    Grand Wagoneer with Cummins 4BT

Heres the new family hauler, oldblue69s old Grand Wagoneer Repowered with a Cummins 4BT. The transmission is a Dodge Ram 3spd TF727 mated to the Jeep NP229 T case. The front grille has been changed to "The Razor" grille which I prefer. It doesn't get up and go like the 360 used to....but it gets around 23 MPG. I'll add some more pictures when I get a chance... Heres a video of it running..rattle rattle rattle

It had a Large Garrett Turbo on it when I first assembled it, but the Lag was so bad I ditched it for a small housing Holset. This engine is set up with the water/air cooler at the intake, unlike the Chief with the air/air Intercooler. Should turn some heads dropping the kids off at school!

Hows the gearing with the 727? i forget what ratio you put in it..

    Looks good.. I'm jealous..

Just popped the front window out of mine and there is cancer everywhere.. worst part of the whole heep..

Now if all my parts would finally arrive i might be able to put it back together and we can start talkin about a 4bt for my waggy.

btw.. needs more driving vids.. I might need to take a trip up your way to see it in action.

sounds and looks so small in that engine bay, does it move the jeep down the highway alright?

It works great for the application. I could crank the injection pump up and do other mods... but the idea of this project was to move the entire family around while saving on fuel. I'm very pleased with the end result. The Jeep has 2.73 Gears if I recall, with 33's. I went with the 3 speed auto to keep the driveline as short as possible as well as no need for OD with these gears. It cruises beautifully down the road, very little noise or vibrations.

Wow, that's really nice work, and a sharp Grand Wagoneer!

I have to admit, those little painshakers have always intrigued me. And your install looks like it came from the factory like that. (And it should've been! *L*)

If I was a Jeep, they'd have parted me out a LONG time ago.
