    Frame rust

Hello, I just bought a 94 yj and it has the typical yj rust in the frame. i was wondering if anyone has had to fix a hole at the steering gear? on this jeep and the one i owned before it the steering "box" pulled the frame out because it was rusty. I cant seem to figure out how to fix this.

i havent had a yj yet that didnt have rust around the steering box. My one jeep i completely cut out the front section and replaced it and on my other i cut the rust out (wasnt rusted that bad) and welded a plate over it

if you google ,steering box support yj, and go to images there tones of pics to make a brace to take the stress off the steering box and no way you could pull it from the frame
well almost no way. that would depend on how much right foot you put in it

Mud bros had a good package on that fix, and if he's still around maybe you could get him to fix your current problem. If his old posts still exist, he had some good pictures of what he did.
