    1985 CJ7 build

I bought this a couple of months ago and was unsure about keeping so put it up for sale. So after all the Kijiji low balling bastards and no shows I decided to finish what I started. The body was shot so I was able to buy a fibreglass tub/fenders. It is mint. Just have to change the rotted battery tray. Even all the heating and wiring is already done. Also has the pedals and steering column as well.
I am getting excited to get it done. Here are some pictures,

The way it was when I got it.

    The way it is now!

    The new tub.

And the way I want it to look. Except as a CJ.

A quick question. The chassis is an 85 but the body is Vin'd as a 1979. Which ownership do I use.

I would say go with the chassis because its the original frame, drivetrain, axles ect... of a vehicle. you just put a new shell over the original vehicle basically. I could be wrong but thats how I went with my 88/92 YJ.

    Good luck with the build!

I like that TJ from the 4wd catalogue. I am aiming for the same kind of look for my CJ.

A little progress. Took the old tub off today. Man do I hate rust. I had to scoop three seperate large piles up. The frame needs a little bit more work than I hoped but I think it is workable.
    Here are the pics.

My wife did not like the looks of this at the side of my driveway.

Build hit a snag. Frame is in a little worst shape than I thought. Anyone have an idea where to get a good CJ/YJ frame?

If you need a new frame I've got one sitting in my shop not being used. You can have it. It needs a few patches in the rear and a cross member replaced, but other than that it's good and solid. PM me if your interested.
I'm done with old mistakes, I think I'll make some new ones!!
