Kempenfelt Polar Dip - First Weekend in Febs

    hey everyone,

a few years ago the kids (yes, being 22 for more than a decade still counts as "kid") from the garage went up to kempenfelt and tossed themselves in the water through a small hole in the ice.

about 10 guys and their friends raised a little money for Sick Kids... 1 month to go and we decided we want to see what the whole JK community can do.

no one else is as last-minute-proficient as jeepers - so let's make another great difference this year.

call it what you want, do it for your own reason, but let's see a bucket load of nutter jeepers around that day. (there's even been rumours of a topless caravan from toronto...)

i've setup a facebook page, so feel free to invite yourselves and anyone else - http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php...89799631036247

if you're close to a charity and would like to direct money that way, please post up. it'd be nice to direct all our funds one way, but hey, life hits us all in it's own f'd up way. so, as long as the money is going somewhere that makes a difference, everyone wins.

anyway, some causes that have been suggested so far:

    MS
    mental health
    juvenile cancer
    rare disorders

and, in true off-road spirit, pass this along
    one of these days...

Looks interesting... anyone want to sponsor my fat ass?

A quick question, how do you get out of the water? Climbing out must be a bitch when it's slippery.

What day? You say first weekend in Feb, but I don't think they are going in for the whole weekend...a day and time would be nice for planning purposes...

it's not that tough. to be truthful, i don't even remember getting out, but from some pics it appears i pushed aside my friend, lifted my leg over my shoulder and catapulted up and out of the water. i don't remember anyone else having an issue getting out. but, in case you do have problems, there are two firemen in the water at all times.

I don't think heaving your ass out of freezing water is going to be a problem.

I've been in Kempenfelt a bunch of times. It's just above fawking cold in the summer. Well below fawking cold in the winter and spring.
