Chris what's the actual name or spelling, or developer of the map app you mentioned. A bunch of them came up when I searched Topo maps.

Topo Maps $7.99 by Philip Endecott V1.9 68.2 MB

Then you have to download the topo maps in the areas you are interested in. I have everything south of Hwy 17. in Ont. Have to use wifi to download the hi-res maps but its worth it. They are the actual Gov't topo maps that are scanned and blended together with GPS info laid over top for good detailed positioning.

Looks awesome, thanks. I'm gonna spend some time to download the maps and learn the program. This will come in handy next wheeling season.

The Canadian Tire app still has the GPS locator problem. I'm deleting it and wait for the fix eventually.

Did u download the update for the Canadian Tire App? I'm using 3GS, and the GPS is no longer always on...only when I open the app

Beware of apps and fully read their software lic agreements, there are some useful apps for both iphones AND droid fones that send any and all information to a 3rd party for misuse and fraud.

Reading an email such as your bill payment confirmation on your fone with some of these apps will forward all of your billing information and account numbers to people who will do bad things with it.

This another one of those times where the elaws have not caught up with technology, and you can get severely burned if u are not leary of which app you choose.

    Hope this helps

I downloaded the newest CT app three days ago, and it still had that issue. I'm on iPhone 4.

And Mayhem is right, always look out for suspicious apps and requests. I do banking only through the bank's site, and never do anything 3rd party. I mentioned that location-request earlier, and I turn them off unless it's necessary. I also have my phone auto lock, and after a few bad guesses it'll erase all data on the phone.

CAA has a couple apps... there is a ROAD SERVICE one and a SAVINGS one. The Road Service one lets you pre-enter your membership and vehicle information and if you need help you can send a call online (including your GPS location) with just a couple clicks (avoid waiting on the phone) the Savings app uses your location to show you "show your card and save" partners where you save money on purchases just for being a member. There is also a TripTik app that lets you plan a driving route, shows you all the gas stations along the way etc..

edit: all of them are free/.

I've been playing Pocket Tanks. Pretty much the same as Scorched Earth from back in the day. Another cool freebie

Anyone know of an app or a way to transfer files from a PC onto my iPhone? I don't have iTunes on this computer yet, but I don't know if iTunes allows for file transfer. The files I need stored on the phone are .MTS or something funky like that.

    Thanks

DocsToGo is awesome...allows you to view PDF files, edit/create Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents. Used it when I was in school...teacher thought I was listening to my iPhone during exams...

I got a little app and seems to work fine, but typical Apple stuff and everything has to go through iTunes.

    Thanks
