    No I've owned it since new and it's been Apple serviced since then. I tried to save this SHSH file, getting this error multiple times in the LOG of tinyumbrella;

09/27/2011 22:31:51.281 CYDIA DOES NOT HAVE YOUR SHSH FOR iPhone3GS 3.1.3 (7E18) THERE IS NO WAY FOR YOU TO GET THEM. SORRY. YOU ARE JUST TOO LATE.

I'm not sure where to go or if it's worth doing.

Digging this back up. Picked up a 4S last night, it's on charge. Anything cool available on the 4S that wasn't available to my 3GS? The screen difference is way better than I thought it'd be, and scrolling/flicking/loading is much better too. I was quite happy with the 3GS until my son decided that Talking Tom needed a bath.

I'm still curious about this jailbreak thing. If the 3gs is fixable (it's at a repair guy now) can I still jailbreak it even when it's not 'active'? I'd like to load it with movies and games (keep my new phone away from the little one).

Without a cell plan, the iPhone will turn into an iPod touch. You can still play games, music, takes pics, etc. You'll need a wireless router to download stuff.

Jailbreaking will let customize the phone any way you want, and also download hacked apps and games for free.

yeah you hosed yourself the 5.0 baseband update breaks the gevey sim chip.. your probably going to have to trade.

you could have updated if you make custom firmware, but i assume you just plugged the phone into iTunes and hit update..

Canada Topo: (free) topo maps that you can download and save to the phone... its bad ass and free. obviously shows your location and direction and you can set flags and such as well.

GTA III : (5 bucks) literally the exact grand theft auto three, with all the same gameplay and missions, exactly as if it was on playstaion... 4S phone is recommended for this one. EXACTLY AS THE PS3 VERSION!

Shazam: (free) song recognition... open shazam when listening to music you want to know the name of... it listens for a minute and then WHAMMO tells you the artist and album and lets you test listen to be sure...

TuneIn Radio: (free) local and world radio stations... its sweet and you can search by area or genre etc...

Jumi Mouse: (free/$$) free version works great as a mouse, you can buy other remotes to control all kinds of computer programs like itunes/vlc/windows media player... etc... also works as a touch screen mouse/keyboard and remote desktop from the phone

Discovr Apps: (free) type in an app you like, and it will show you a bunch of others that are related in one way or another... click on one of them and shows you a bunch that are related to it... etc... cool interface too.

NAKED NEWS: (FREE) they dont get completely nekked, but a couple of the naked news babes rock bikinis and update you on the important news of the day... chyee

4x4Gyro: (.99c) awesome clinometer that eve has a jeep as the level... fore/aft and side-side ... works great

Easy Trails: ($$) my favourite gps tracking app... doesnt load maps if you dont want to, but can do so if you like... tracks down to the foot where you have gone... altitude/avrg speed/ etc... i tried lots of these style apps, and its my favourite one..

TrailRanger: It's a free clinometer to keep you from rollin your Jeep.

To Do's: Free, Simple app that's easy to keep track of your daily tasks. I use it a lot for work, you can organize in priority etc.

Movescount: free from Suunto. Kind of cool as you can track your route from it for hiking, biking, jeeping etc.

navfree canada: free GPS it has been really accurate. I don't use it a ton because apparently it chews through data but it's a nice nav tool to have with you on the go in the car if you need it.

I'm certainly not talented enough to drive and read, so yeah I need some spoon feeding

If you'd like some free books, go to http://www.ereaderiq.com/free/. Click on Canada for the region. Some of the books are just fillers, but some of the others are very good reads. Click on "stars and reviews" to get the higher rated books. I like how the kindle app will sync with your computer or kindle, to know exactly where you left off and what notes you've made.

    Panoramic Photo App...

who is using what and what are you saying about it?

What version of the iPhone are you using?

does it do 360 degree panoramas or just a wider image?

does it let you save to your "camera roll" on the phone or do you need to use a website to upload it to?

How large/what resolution is the image when put into your computer for printing? (will it look like a decent image or is it small and/or pixelated?

Whatever else you can think of that makes it a good or bad app to buy....

    Thanks bitches

Haven't used any of those, but what I can say is unless it uses some sort of hardware based GPS antenna or dock with built in antenna, then it will be using data to track where you are...

Something like this, which I don't think Garmin makes...
