    take lots of photos for us, and i,ll be following your blog...
    Jeez, I had hoped my blog would be inspirational, entertaining and uplifting. Didn't realize it was such a bummer.I didn't even mention losing my house, my kids and everything I owned but my clothes and my guitar and having to start over again and get custody of my boys, lol.
    Well, I hope I can keep my readers entertained anyway. If old man winter would just piss off so I can start getting things together and getting out for some rides. I just got the stereo for my bike today. Sony deck with front USB/ipod port, RetroRadio install kit and HogTunes speakers.

    Sounds great. I'll drop you a line when I'm going to be heading down. Is there a Hooters nearby?

    Went to North Bay and rode in the Papa Joe Ride for Cancer on May 28th, and then rode to Barrie Sunday for the Huronia H.O.G. chapter's annual charity poker run ( I won the award for furthest traveled to attend this event ). Two awesome charity events in two weekends. Great start to the Hard Ride Tour 2011 :-)

    Just 6 more days until I leave for Key West. I am pretty excited. In my last couple of blog posts I added another video product review ( GT Roll tailbag from MOTOPAK motorcycle luggage) and a map of my proposed route to Key West and back. Yesterday my brother and I were discussing the trip and he mentioned his dream of visiting the site of the 1969 Woodstock music festival in Bethel, New York. So I guess our trip home will now be diverted much to the east before heading up towards Buffalo.
    I hope my body holds out for all those extra miles.

    Well, I'm back!. We did the trip in 11 days ( which included a day off in Sebring Florida and another day off in Key west ) Total mileage was 4355 miles ( around 7000 kms). We did the Tail of the Dragon on the way down and rode through the southern states on the way back through that brutal heat wave. On the last day we left Bethel, NY and rode 550 miles to get home . It was a 12 hour ride.

    If you take it easy, ride in 2nd gear, use rear brake only, etc. it is not too bad. Some of the corners still sneak up on you, You slow to go into them, and then they get tight and dip and it forces you across the line. The main thing to watch for is traffic the other way as you have a tendency to take left corners with some of you and your bike leaning over the center line on blind curves. You also have to watch for trucks. It's a very dangerous highway. We saw two wrecked bikes the day we were there.
    There are lots of helmet-cam vids on youtube of guys being forced off the road by trucks. They have to swing wide on the tight blind curves and are completely in the oncoming lane
    Example; this is on a tight, blind curve typical of the Dragon, honking his horn isn't going to help a full-helmet, sportbike rider taking that curve hot.

    I put my camera on the back of my brother's bike and got some footage of me riding the dragon. It doesn't look as bad on the video but I did scrap my footboards a couple of times and you can see me correct my position a couple of times when I am coming around one of the blind curves and meet oncoming traffic. After Deal's Gap we continued on 129 to Robinsonville and then took the Cherohala Skyway back into Tennessee. Now THAT is an awesome ride!
    Me on the Dragon;

    Actually, here are two videos I made ( part 1 and part 2) of the entire Key West trip in pictures and video, including the above video;

    Just hit the 10,000 mile mark on the Hard Ride tour. Probably end up with somewhere around 13 thousand by year's end. Sheesh, that's a lot of riding.
