    1990 Suzuki GS500e

finally got the bike back together. its almost ready for the road. just waiting on a new battery and got a blinker issue to sort out.

I just bought it last fall. this is the day after i got it.

the bike had been dropped, skidded or kicked over.... regardless, the one rear blinker was broken at the mount point. i thought they stuck out way too far anyways, so good ole ebay came to the rescue once again and i found some LED's to replace them

    mounted

I also disliked the silver/rusty frame. i thought semi-gloss would look better. as well, with me being the anti-bling kinda guy, i wanted the chrome headlight painted to match the frame. added some new grips to replace the worn old ones.

and there ya have it..... nothing fancy. it needs a cpl lil issues sorted, but nothing to lose sleep over.
    Thanks for lookin.

I think the wheels need to be painted...especially looking at that last picture...something about the white wheels just doesn't look right to me...to be honest, makes it look scooterish...

    Looks nice!

I ride an ex500... the GS and Ex are fairly similiar.

I dont know how suzuki did their rims, but for the EX, if you use aircraft paint stripper (or a really strong paint stripper) on the rims, then coat with a polish to avoid the (im assuming yours would be aluminum?) wheels from corrodiing.

Looks great, heres a write up... ill be doing mine not this weekend, but next.

Looks good billy, I'm working on a GS750e right now. Almost done.

I totally understand the urge to ride, but I have to agree with Jeff, those rims would look gret painted to match the frame.

BTW the frame looks way better than stock.
I'm done with old mistakes, I think I'll make some new ones!!

i agree... black or red wheels would look way better. if i dont sell it off by next spring i will paint them and the rest of the bike.

it is just a starter bike for me. when ready i would like to try out a Triumph speed four and see if its something i would buy. i just want to get my insurance down a wee bit. not that the 500 is bad on insurance, but i suspect getting something a lil sportier will be...lol.

All depends on your ins co. Some pay attention to the class of the bike ie. crusier, sport touring, or sport, some go strictly on cc's and year.
