Pav's "finally have a little time" CJ7 build

Long story short, sold my YJ when the kids came....

spent the last 5 years gathering parts to do a CJ7 build...

started the build and spending too much time in the garage...

daughter said "mommy, why does daddy love the jeep more than me?"...

took Sedona's advice, parted everything out and surprisingly have enough money to bring a jeep back from Arizona.

Thanks to all who came and bought parts from me, it was a pleasure meeting everyone and made a few new friends.

First pics are the jeep in Arizona.

Second set are where I am now.

I won't bore you with the teardown...even a one handed monkey can take apart a jeep....

Update please, those pics were from this morning. Since I saw it last, I am guessing the jeep has been painted, tires put on and seats in by now. Oh never mind, you were probably doing the same thing as when I pulled up this morning.... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! lmao

Mostly a restoration. White 8" factory rims, white whitco NOS soft top and a black renegage interior. I have a factory cb radio as well. But I can't resist a small lift, 3" and 32 bfg old school muds

Paint/Renegade Decal kit may have to wait due to time and money, but it will definitely stay the factory orange. This sucker must have been special order, it is paint code 7z, sun orange which hasn't been used since 1977.

Out working on it tonight, was going to pull the axles and paint them, while I did the lift, but screw it, I have to drive it.

    Transfer case is out.

That jeep is mint!!!! Iknow where my next one will be coming from.

Did you happen to see the early 70 cjs in 4wheeler rag, I think it was a month or two ago. There were three alll different colours. Orange, green, blue. They all had black windshields and the raised part of the hood was black as well. I almost went with the green and black for mine. The orange and black really looked nice. If I was as computer savvy as you I would post it up. But.... I'm not....

Hey , get back to work!!!

What steps did you have to take to get it back from Arizona?

Very easy, thanks to Sedona here on jeepkings...helped me out big time!!!!!!!!!

First you need a seller that will work with you, and get a whole bunch of pictures, inside and out.

Did a wire transfer for the money and the owner sent the title by registered mail.

Arranged shipping through DAS and the shipped it to Buffalo. Cost about a $1000.

Drove over to buffalo to pick it up with a rented car dolly.

You need to send a bill of sale and the title to the customs office 72 hours before you arrive.

I also brought the craigslist ad and money transfer, just in case, but I didn't need it. (Lucked out at the border, he was a newbie and has yet to develop "the attitude"

Brought the paperwork from customs and my title from Arizona to the MTO, and recieved my ontario ownership.

    Classic eh???

The second last owner was a very portly fellow, hence the "GRIZZLY" painted on the hood, and low back seat for more room. It also had pieces of chain to extend the seatbelts and two of the nuts welded in the floor for the seat riser are ripped out. LOL

Rumour has it he bought a Mini...

rims are painted, couple of sags I will sand before the second coat, nothing like painting at sunset when you can's see jack she at. Never enough hours in the day!!!

    Learned something valuable about Tremclad.

The new paint at any angle cans are awesome, the old fan style suck, especially when painting rims, they were designed for more flat surfaces.

And the tremclad primer is great, the coverage is beautiful.
