    Always hated that TJ 4wd shifter

    Was bored, had an hour to kill, so I quickly built a YJ style 4wd shifter for my TJ. Feels much better seeing that down beside my leg, rather than a parking brake looking thing...May not be pretty... but it's effective

    I took the TJ shifter, and cut it off where it bends forward, welded on some threaded rod. It's really not fancy.

    Using another photo, this is where I cut it. I had a spare one in my shop, so I used it, pulled the console just to replace the shift lever.
