    toyota front axle rebuild

    one day im planning on getting this from the condition its in to usable condition to put under my 4runner.
    hear is the start anyway. just a bunch of tear down pics.

    Good progress so far. Why'd you have to cut all the front axle flange studs?

    no matter what i did they would not come off , thoes little cones were in there.
    i bet this axle has never been apart.

    Hm. Never had to resort to that. Usually I use a center punch 2 mm from either side of those cones. Punch hard, and the metal deforms under the cone, pushing it out. But looking at it... I agree it's likely never been apart.
