    My cheveep

I am building a 88 yj with full chevy driveline from an fullsize 1990 gmc jimmy. Which mean this is only an off road toy. so it got 38.5 super swappers on 10 inch wide rims with 4.5 inches off backspace. as for axles just picked for built chevy axles 10 bolt in front with high steer arb locker warn manual hubs and 488 with yukon shafts for the rear 12 bolt with detriot lock with 488 and yokon shafts. suspension and 3.5 inch lift yj leaf spring with 4 inch blocks. i put 2 inch body blocks just to make room for the trans mount and 350 just to be safe, and it makes it so much easier to work on! i had to make a custom trans mount to have front driveshaft clearance. its got an tbi 350 3 speed trans and chevy 242 transfer case. headers on the way other than that stock for now as i want to complete before getting insane! steering is the jeep steering column with jeep shaft and believe it or not bolts right up to chevy steering box. just putting on the frame now.

Might just be the way it looks in the photo but do you have some type of bushing for trans mount or is it connected directly to the cross-member?

i know its a off road only truck, but lift blocks in the front is really a no-no. the truck is probably going to be tall enough without them.
currently building a toyota. i'm sorry.

Why so high............looking to fall over?
I have waggy springs SOA with a body lift and clearing 42's
Might wanna rethink the rear axle position, and run a shorter t-case too. You got a bad angle there.

get rid of the solid mounts! wtf? 35o trans are prone to cracking in the bellhousing area if you make any good power.
get some real motor mounts/trans mounts. bubb

I hope you like changing transmissions. Solid mounting a drivetrain like that is only done in full tube chassis buggies and racers. Your way-too-high YJ has a flexible frame and will break the tranny tail housing the first weekend out. I've done it and I had tranny mounts, 2 to be exact. Even having to two mounts was too stiff and the tail housing snapped off.
