Help clean up Cootes Paradise and Carroll's Bay Marsh

    Sat, 24 Sep, 2011 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM

As the receding shorelines are exposed after a year of very high water levels, trash from the spring floods is becoming apparent. By the end of August water levels will have fallen 20in. after a rising nearly 40 inches over the spring. The Royal Botanical Gardens is looking for your assistance in cleaning up the shorelines. Bring rubber boats and gloves, and canoes for the more adventurous to reach the more distant shorelines from the start points. RBG will also have its work boat on the water.

it was amazing how much stuff was in even a small area of the park. lots of fishing hooks and worm boxes, chip bags and coffee cups. and for some reason, a soggy mattress
