This thread is great!!!!! I have my eye on a 5.7 Vortec engine, so I might need some help on things such as fuel pressure and wiring etc. Currently the Jeep I bought has a chevy 305 V8 so no engine mounts to be made, everything should be more or less bolt in I have been told :-s

Keep the good info flowing and the thread!!!

You shouldnt use copper tubing for fuel or brake lines on a vehicle because it work hardens, fatigues and can crack. A broken fuel line or worse brake line could ruin your day fast. Im building a yj similar to yours and I plan on using steel fuel lines along the frame, and high pressure fuel injection hose to the fuel pump and sending unit. Its also nice if you can re-use all of the existing fuel line holders and clips if there still in good shape.

Steel fuel line is the easiest and fastest way to go, and cheapest as well. You can use the current feed line as the return as well, so you only need to replace the pressure one. Also, you need to use hose, from the line to the engine, and sender, that is rated for fuel injection, and fuel injection style clamps (avail at any decent parts store) Or you could also use good quality braided fuel hose the entire length, as long as you clamp it good, so it doesnt droop.

TBI will NOT run properly with a YJ pump, TBI requires no more than 15ish psi to operate. The 40ish psi the yj pump kicks out will overload the internal regulator in the tbi and fill up yer oil with gas. Ask me how I know! better yet dont.

I made my own sending unit from a chevy pump and yj sender and dropped it in the tank. You can have mine if you need it, I'll be pulling it out shortly

    Whenever you can Dave.

Did you follow some sort of build thread to create it? I could do the same if I need it before you have the chance to pull the one you have.
