4.0l high output 6 cylinder to high of idle?

i recently bought a 1990 jeep yj and the original carbonated engine that was in it got switched out for this 4.0l high output engine but it idles around 900 rpm's and will get a little jumpy when i put it in drive. Is this normal for this engine? I was just concerned cause know most all vehicles idle around 500rpm.

My old Renix would rev high when i started it sometimes, and some times just whenever. I would just open the hood and unplug the TPS for a second, or two on the throttle body while it was running, and it would calm down. Never did persue a real fix for it myself. Never had the same problem with my HO.
