So after driving it to the TMR open house last weekend the transmission gets warm on uphills pulls with the torque converter unlocked. On a long hill on my way home it went from 175deg to 210deg! However once up the hill and locking the torque converter it dropped down to 180deg for the rest of the ride. I am okay with that.
I painted the crossmember and frame and picked up the TMR Customs 3" drop skidplate. It is flat (no ribbing like factory) and weighs a TON! I bet I could lift the entire truck with it!

It's been a while! Been a long winter! Nothing much going on until the last couple of weeks unfortunately. Here's what I've done:

Installing these rock lights with TMR Customs tabs. Going to have four on each side and two in the front and rear:

Got my front cage kit from TMR Customs. Great kit! Easy to install and fit. It's all tacked up! First off welding the reinforcements on the pillars. May not be as nice as a "roll of dimes" but plenty strong with plenty of heat!

Mounted and wired some KC 5W LEDs I got from TMR. From left to right it's off/marker/indicator:

Finally mouting my Nitto Trail Grapplers in 40x13.50R17 on my new TMR Customs skull beadlocks!

Thanks dude but that tear is in a crappy spot and would most likely expand with the on/off of the top. I don't care about a little pin-hole here or there but that is too much.

Finish welded up the TMR Customs front cage kit! Drilled the bars for the factory TJ door surrounds and picked up a factory top!

The TMR front cage kit is fantastic. I can't recommend it enough. For someone like me who doesn't have a tube bender (or even if you do have one), who can't notch tube for shit, but can weld - it is such a simply install. If it all fits then it's in correctly. All the tubes are meant to fit a certain way and everything is notched and ready to go. Top notch kit!

Ran Forest Mountain and Green Mountain this weekend. A few issues came up....if anyone can read them and offer opinions on solutions I'd appreciate it:

1 - Transfercase linkage disconnected while flexing. Wasn't able to shift anymore - obviously, the metal rod popped out of the portion on the transfercase. Had to shift it manually by hand under the truck. Now I know this is/can be a common issue. I know one fix is the cable shifter - but my question, which ties into the next one too - is what is the actual issue? Why is my frame flexing so much now - and wasn't before? Read the next issue and you'll see:

2 - Rad fan chopping up the plastic shroud when flexed out on obstacles. Again this is a completely new issue. Never happened before. Checked the motor mounts and they appear fine - no excessive flexing or jumping of the motor. Nothing engine/fan/rad wise has changed.

The only difference from last year (no issues) to this year is my installation of a front cage kit. I can't see that causing this though - could it have changed the frame properties that much that it is flexing more now?

Any help with solving these problems would be much appreciated.

Body isn't flexing with the frame anymore because its been stiffened by the cage.

Cabe shifter is your best option.

Also check your torque boxes for rot, its a common issue.
