1979 Cherokee Golden Eagle Levi Edition from AZ

My wife tells me I don't need another Jeep, but she's wrong. This beauty is headed for Brantford Ontario shortly. It is all original, rust-free, and dusty. It needs an engine (360) and some interior help. I will do my best to bring this back with a minor cosmetic resto. If anyone has some misc Cherokee items that are in great condition please let me know. It has the beige Levi interior.

Where are you getting your AZ Jeeps from? And how are you shipping back here? Feel free to PM me the details as its something I'm hoping to do next year but possibly drive it back as well.

We used to live in AZ, and still have a place there. I know the area well, and know where to look . I have used a few different auto transport services in the past, but find DAS to be reliable and reasonable. They have a drop off depot just west of Phoenix. The Jeep then gets shipped to a terminal in Elma, NY (about 20 mins from Buffalo) where I pick them up. Be sure to have your title cleared by US Customs in advance, and a bill of sale etc. The RIV website will help with instructions on the importing process. It's quite simple really. If you want my opinion I would never drive an old Jeep back from the Southwest. WAY too far, and too many things can fail along the way (costing thousands potentially). By the time you add your lodging, fuel, meals, etc (not to mention those potential repairs) the costs aren't much different. Don't forget about your time- it is a three day drive back in anything other than a new car. DAS charges $1000 approx for a CJ-7 from Phx to NY. Hope this helps.

Just curious if there is anyone on this forum who has access to clean, dry storage for this Jeep (for the winter months). My garage is full, and I would like to put this Cherokee away for the winter as soon as it arrives here (Brantford) from AZ. I was thinking there might be a JK member in the Burlington/Hamilton/Brantford/Paris/Woodstock/Cambridge area that has extra storage in their garage/barn/shop etc. I'm open to paying a reasonable fee of course. Please PM me if you have some thoughts. I appreciate it!

Original 360 V8 all the way. Possibly fuel injected, but otherwise "stock".

I sold the Chief with the 5.9L to a guy in Washington State. He flew here and drove it home. I then put a Cummins 4 cylinder 4BTA into a Grand Wagoneer

    The Eagle has Landed

The Cherokee arrived from Arizona this morning at Z&M Jeeps in Maumee OH. There it will receive some love and attention from Zack Heisey, owner of Z&M- and FSJ guru. The original 360 V8 is scheduled for a complete performance rebuild. Zack called me right away to say he couldn't believe how clean the frame and body is on this Jeep! The engine is in the back of the Jeep- that is why the front end looks high and the rear looks low.
