1995 zj limited 4.0l running issues

so im out west at lake louis, i drove the jeep here from kitchener ont, about 3300 km about a week ago, drove here just fine... but i did notice that the distributor was making a squeeking noise - not sure if this is related to what it is doing now... so i went to drive it this morning, it started just fine, then i relized i forgot my wallet in side so i shut it off got it and went to turn it on, it would roll over but would not start... so i went to work didnt have time to look into it had to go to work, came back 10 hrs later, tried it again, it started, but didnt sound that great..(it was making a high pitch whine not sure where it was coming from and if i gave it gas the wine got proportinaly worse but then went away... ) so i turned it off and tried to start it - again it rolled over but wouldnt start all this was within about 10 min... any ideas??? ever have this happen?

no not a belt wine, that i can guarentee.... its as though the engine is running a little rough... which makes no sense as it was fine a week ago but i didnt really drive it. be fore i drove west i gave it an overall tune up, plugs rotor cap, fluids, oil, you name it all the general mtce things one should do.... brakes, fuel filter, block heater plug (which i have also been using while i keep it parked) etc.....im gonna have to look into it, but some guidence is possible as to things i should check that would be great... ie fueses.... distributor.. etc
