    Hurricane Engine Question

Can anyone tell me what the small cup like cylinder is on the top of the rocker arm cover?? I have only seen them on a few of the Hurricane engines. Why is that? Are there specific years when the engines were made with them????

Here is a photo of what I am talking about! Thanks!

Not to be a turd but I think PCV would be the wrong term, there is no positive ventilation, its just a crankcase vent. Most likely just a cotton filter underneath the cap

PCV would be the correct term since the Hurricane does in fact have a PCV system. It's basically just an elbow for the PCV hose to attach to, absolutely nothing inside it, non replaceable, nothing to service. Really seems to be no rhyme or reason to which years had it that I know of.
