This year's 9th annual Roadkill BBQ charity offroad event in Parry Sound generated a trailer-load of fencing and supplies as well as over $1600 in cash to benefit the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary and the Parry Sound/Muskoka Independent Animal Rescue. 4X4 enthusiasts attended from as far away as London and Sudbury and gave generously to the cause while enjoying a weekend of festivities and guided group rides on the various local trails.

Part of this year's initiative was to collect and dispose of garbage found on the trails as well as locating and identifying larger objects and refuse to be removed during next month's trails clean-up orchestrated by the Ontario Federation of 4WD Recreationalists ( OF4WD )

Huge thanks to everyone who participated and donated and special thanks to Protokult for the awesome concert, Rubicon Grill for the worlds most awesome sausages, Pit Girlz for the buns and condiments, Pit Boyz for their organizational help, Adams Bros Construction of Parry Sound for the Porta-potty, Off Road Addiction, Staangs Fab, TMR Customs, Just Jeeps, Trailhead Customs, Pit Boyz, BAJA, Chrisbuilt, and OF4WD for the donations of prizes for the raffle.

1x u-joint, both wheel front bearings are toast, rear passenger spring straps and center pin (almost had axle yank out the rear) tcase shifter linkage ripped out, tapped the tranny now a good leak at the seal, the front drive shaft is a bit bent. I'll update ya when I find out what other parts had as much fun as we did!

At this point, it doesn't look like there will be another RK event. The weekend before Fathers Day weekend was the traditional date, and the only weekend I have free, but the core group of supporters/helpers will be attending a wedding that weekend.

Who's getting married that weekend? And how dare there..

On a more serious note, this is sad news and I can only say thank you for all the RKs I've attended to date.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! Roadkill 2013 was the completion deadline for my YJ...... what am I going to do now?

Just kidding -Randy you were a heck of a host, I've only ever been once, but I had a riot and will always remember what a stand up guy you were.

I remember even then (three years ago) talking to you about how much work it was - you're due to retire man.

As for Roadkill 2013... I say we take over black lake or the KOA for the same weekend?

My son, Harrison, has informed me that he will help me get organized for another Roadkill event in 2014. So this event isn't necessarily completely dead, but perhaps just taking a one-year respite. Thanks for all the kind words.
