money usually starts to dissappear from your
    wallet. watch out for that.

other than that if you fall in love with it

What year? I've heard front fenders are pretty bad from 97-99.
2.5L engines seem to be famous for blowing up.

Asking for Experts in the wrong spot but I'll add something

Hookers in the trunk, ya don't want that

    Wait what trunk

    Check fenders for rust,
pull carpets up front and back to check for rust
Does 4wd shifter move through its range
How does the tranny shift,,,,,,,,you haven't given us any drive line or vintage to aid you with
Depending on year and how it was maintained some of the older TJ's frames are screwed. RUN
Any clicks or knocks or bumps when driving it, in tight circles, in 4wd if you can find a appropriate place
Is the fuel tank full, if not you'll have to start filling it even sooner
Is it being sold safetied or not? two different worlds kinda

Its kind of like buying a used vehicle

Ya, don't get a 2.5L. And look everywhere underneath for leaks.

    4.OL all the way.
If you are looking at the pre-2000 era the water pump and radiator have a tendency to fail before/around 200K. Listen for cracks in the headers. Motor, tranny mounts and bushings of any kind are should be changed if they haven't already been.

Is it in Guelph? I'm there a couple of times a week to go climbing at the Grotto and could maybe take a look for you. PM me if that sounds like a good idea.

Or look for fender rust, frame rust, fluid leaks, dead spots/play in the steering/front axle components, floor pan rust, rad leaks, etc. Ignore most of that list if you're planning on substantially modifying it.

Frame above the lower control arm mount in the rear. Right as it kicks up to go over the axle. I have seen some nasty pics of frame rot there. There is a hole in the side of the frame big enough to put your finger in to feel around. Problem is mud and other shit gets in and pools in that spot.
