4 hours was about all the time I had available and I got the important stuff done. I'll do the other one in a couple of weeks when I have time again. I bought both joints so now its just about time. Hell if I give it another month I can do another oil change at the same time.

The joys of being on call... can't take parts off the jeep when I could have to be on the road with 5min notice.

And I did have the joint with me but again no time to do it. It'll be fine till I sell the axles then I'll do it to make sure they are fresh for whoever buys em.

So the tires it came with have so little tread left it doesn't stop or start in the rain and being that its still going to be a while till everything is lined up for the build I decided to grab some new rubber to tide me over. Got a set of 31x10x15 Daytona stags with lots of life left on some pimp'n polished rims (thanks stumpy) got em cheep enough to sell again when I'm done with em. Expect pictures when there's enough sun to make the glare hide the stockness.

I can't say much, I haven't touched my jeep at all this year. Poor thing has been sitting all year with with 3 flat tires. Kitchen first, then jeep
I guess the cage and seats will go in over the winter.

Looking forward to watching your build and wishing i was doing the same.

    The plan:
    off the hop:
    bedline the tub
clean up some small under body rust (get em while they are small)
get the smoke smell out (gah it's infesting my cloths, driveing with the top down helps though)
    staangs skid
TMR long arm possibly with a bit of stretch (I think I'll pop for the aluminum arms, Tim let me hold both and I'm telling you it's worth about the weight of a passanger)
some sort of drive shafts (probably end up with woods)
about 3-4" of lift (open to spring/shock sugestions on road ride is the most important thing here to me)
1" body lift and 1" MML to accmidate staangs belly up skid.
35" tires (thinking MTR Kevlar but MTZs are also not out of the question, opinions?)
    PSC hydro assist
Rock Jock 60s with ARBs and 4.88s (thinking JK width so they can be transfered to somthing else several years do the road)

nothing put on the Jeep yet (although the winch may go on today if all goes well. I have however made a deal for a GM front D60 to steal the outers off of... way cheaper then buying brand new kingpin outers from solid. Don't know what's inside the diff yet and that's part of why its such a good price... who knows many I pop the cover and find an arb many I find an open carrier. We will see. Trying out "the rock" this weekend don't think I'll brave the lower loop but who knows... perhaps I'll be feeling dumb.

Well the run didn't go down quite as scheduled. Spent till 3:30am Saturday morning in Barrie doing this

    And this

As well as fixing (sorta) 1.5 other jeeps and after a hour drive home I just didn't feel like getting up and wheeling all day on 1 hours sleep. So I went Sunday and ran concession with the tri-city club. Had a great time and never used the new winch (guess if I needed a winch on concession in a Rubicon I should just give up now) now for the cleaning.

    A few more small things.

Couldn't pass up the clearance price.

Also swapped out the Chinese 10,000lbs winch for a real warn M10000 that thing is friggin HUGE. Admittedly not 8274 huge but still.

You may not be able to tell from the pic but trust me that is one FULL winch plate... as in it was a bit of a squeeze to push the power cables between the winch and grill.

Edit: wow can you feel this thing. Ass dyno says I need stickers to make up for the loss of power after this winch and man does the front end push in the corners now. Not to mention the jk rake I have now, I thin it will help my mileage through improved aerodynamics

Installed some leveling spacers in the front to deal with the winch induced rake (thanks ski). It was a much harder job then I expected but I knocked it out in half a day.

OK plans have changed. Rockjocks are out, the budget got shrunk a bit with my wife being out of work... and the amount I'm spending on gas... holly crap the 4.0 burns so much more then my lifted jk.

However I was made an offer I couldn't refuse.

    Arriving home:

On stands ready for some work

Dynatrac prorock 44, heavy tubes, Arb, RCV shafts, huge steering and 5.13s

A stock JK rubi rear 44 also with 5.13s is sitting at Billy Speedway's shop... the LJ when loaded with crap from work will only take one at a time.

The plan is to regear them myself to save some coin and gain some knowledge. I'll keep the 5.13s on a shelf with their shims so that if I ever go bigger I can just pop em back in.

Just need to track down some rear jk breaks.

**** regearing, run them...put the money from buying new gears, etc. in to bigger tires...

use this link to figure out your gear ratios/tire sizes...

    http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html

---------- Post added at 11:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:16 PM ----------

^ that link lets you compare side by side your stock setup and whatever other setup you want to run...

31s on 4.10s are only 300 rpm lower than 35s on 5.13s...if you have the auto...and only about 200 rpm lower if you are running the 6 speed.

Well once again jeff stops me from spending money... ok 5:13s and 35s it is... don't think the extra couple hundred rpm will effect mileage enough to notice... ok jeff am I allowed to cut the brackets off for the lift or is there some reason why jk brackets will be helpfull?
