YJ wont crank after build??? auto/4L

Just finished my build on my 94 YJ

I removed the ECU, ICM and battery before the build ( because i was welding).

i hooked everything up and im not getting any cranking.

we changed out the starter and checked for power to the signal wire and we got nothing.

we also tried to jump the NSS and still got no crank.

What else can i check to figure out this issue?

Did i fry anything while welding?
    couple jeeps

i jumped it by adding power to the signal.

    it started and ran.

the signal wire isnt getting any power going into the fuse block.

sooo what should i be looking for now?

pin 85 should be a trigger to engage the relay. What are you getting on 86?

I know Jak Flash has a factory manual with full wiring diagrams...maybe he will chime in...

then 85 should be showing a ground...you could attempt to jump it to ground and see what it does...

I am thinking something is up with the auto shutdown relay or you have lost/missed a ground connection somewhere...

could this be a nss issue?

can jumping the signal wire still make the truck run even if it has a bad nss?

i have the transmission linkage apart right now( because of the body lift)im wondering if that could have anything to do with it.

i pushed it all the way into park and still no power to signal wire while trying to crank
we tried bypassing the NSS and still nothing.

pin 85 shows 12v when there is no key cycle

but as soon as i crank it goes to 0

so the relay is engaging? do you hear/feel it click?

If so, are you getting anything to pin 87 and/or 30?

on the starter relay nothing on 87 because thats the signal. pin 30 is getting power. key off

the auto shut down relay pin 87 it will click and show voltage than go to 0(while cranking). pin 30 shows battery voltage

let's focus on starter relay...that is what we were talking about in our previous posts yes/no?

If you are getting voltage at 30, but it does not flow through to 87, then the relay is not engaging...85 and 86 are the coil portion of the relay, if there is power and ground there, then the relay should engage and cause 30 and 87 to make contact internally...is the starter relay clicking (engaging) at all?

    it doesnt engage at all.

but there is power and it is a good relay.

i cracked the top of the relay and manually engaged it. the truck will crank no problem like that.
