    TJ Rear Body Mount

So I installed a 1" BL on the weekend. All went nice and easy with a little fighting with the movement of the rad.
However, my drivers rearmost body mount bolt won't tighten. It seems to thread in a few turns and then just spins. I have tried pushing up while tightening, pulling down while tightening and still just spins.
So my question is, do I cut a hole in the underside of the Body or should I pop a hole in the side of the "box" that is under the tub?(see attached photo).
Any help is appreciated. Currently running with no bolt in it.

I had this happen on my TJ as well. I ended up cutting a flap open on the front side of the box. Then I welded the threaded plate to the body and then welded the cage for the plate back down. Here is a picture of what you are dealing with.

I have the same problem as of last night; rear passenger side body mount bolt just spins.
You cut your tub first and let me know how that goes

    Any update southpw?
I cut a hole for mine last night and can see the flat 'nut' spinning.
Tried throwing the vice grips on it but no dice - too much force for them.
Won't have access to a welder for a couple of weeks.
Any ideas on how to get on that nut?
I'm thinking about wedging something in between the nut and that sheet metal cover to keep the nut from spinning. Seems kind of ghetto but it's the only thing I can think of that might work.

cut the box as above pictures and remove the stupid flat nut and cover, replace with a normal washer and nut and reseal the box by pop riveting a piece of metal over the opening.

Hey this happened to me yesterday! I'm about to try you're way of fixing it today. What did you use to cut that hole? a dremel?
