    Foot Pegs and Doorless

I would like to thank you for taking the time to reply to all the questions that have all ready been answered. I have learned a lot about what I can...and cannot do.

My question is in regards to having a foot peg on the lower hinge of my Tj when the doors are off. I frequently drive on unpaved country roads and enjoy sticking my leg out on the peg or edge of the door. I usually pull it in when I pass another car but was always curious in I could receive a citation for doing so...Or is this a grey area and under the officers discretion?

Thanks again for all your help.

I don't know of any law pertaining to this. Heck, when I had my Jeeps, I did the exact same thing (on town/secondary roads anyway).

I can only imagine it would be no different than having your arm hanging out of the window.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks... Helpful, yes..

Would a way to satisfy the safety concern be to get a licensed engineer or some sort of licensed technician to certify the safety of the vehicle if modified front stock form, or created from scratch?
Do you know of a proceedure in place for doing this very thing to make an on road vehicle that has been modified for dual purpose certified safe?
