JK wimp wagon gets a cage

    Finally got a cage
Poison spyder A pillar with stanchions.
It's not as good as in dash and given that it is a new product, it has issues.
But, it seems very few JK's have real cages, not "sport cages"
But, at least, it is DOM and not CREW.

The rest of the cage is custom DOM by Ski and is well built.
All flimsy stock crap is gone.
My head hits the triangulated bars from A pillar to B pillar when I hit bumps at speed.
So, I think I will get some type of "halo bar" tubing done to replace the simple triangulated bars.
Frame tie ins and a little extra triangulation are next over the winter.

I would guess that the next JK cage Ski builds will be all of his excellent work and no Poison spyder stuff.
Thanks to Ski at CT Motorsports for being the first to build a JK cage in the GTA and taking a big hit on the design and development of the cage.
Others will follow and imitate you. You were the first.

Looks great, I happened to walk in when the final install was in progress... I think there's a good reason most companies only produce sport cages for the JK... its a paint to put a real one in there but Ski pulled it off nicely. OK Chad I expect to see some pictures of you doing something harder then concession this year

Indeed, it does look nice a beefy in comparison to the stock look. Kudos to Ski and I'm a bit jealous Chad.

    Looks sweet.

But curious as to why your head would hit at "speed". What speed are we talking and what size bump?

Yup seriously... IMO, if you hit your head on the bar then there is an issue with the design. Unless of course you roll it.

We used stock dimensions for the height. We went with an "X" design up top. Most go with two bars down the middle but then its difficult to triangulate. I didn't have the hard top to test fit and see how far I could push the boundaries and still fit with the hard top. Some tweaking may be required in the fall. Thanks for the props guys. As Chad said. It was the first one we did and it was a PITA. I hope it works out for you. We'll see you in the fall.
