Fender size for Ontario to stay legal?

    Hello,

I am looking at a set of ACE tubular fenders http://www.aceengineeringandfab.com/...ders_p_32.html

They are very small and I was wondering how large the fender has to be to stay legal in Ontario?

There is no specified size for fenders as such. The wording of the legislation is interpretive, and therefore the best advice I can give you, is to try to adhere to the intent of the law.

Quoted from the Highway Traffic Act:

    Mudguards

66(3) Every motor vehicle and every trailer shall be equipped with mudguards or fenders or other device adequate to reduce effectively the wheel spray or splash of water from the roadway to the rear thereof, unless adequate protection is afforded by the body of the motor vehicle or trailer or by a trailer drawn by the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 66 (3).

    I hope this helps!
