    04 LJ Rebuild

So in April I blew the engine in my LJ, kind of sucked but at the same time was a good time to do all of the little things that I wanted to do. I started by removing the tub, I know I could have just removed the front clip to change the engine but hay, why not do a complete over haul while I was waiting for the engine. So here are a few pics of the tear down, it was a pain doing it by myself but I managed to get the tub off and the frame pulled from under is over a couple of days.

After the body was off, changing all of the little parts that I had bought over the pass year was easy to change. I started with the new speedo gear, since I regeared to 4.88's and 35" tires my speedo was off by about 15km. I bought a 39 tooth gear and I'm hoping this will get it back to reading the proper speed. This is a very easy part to change I followed the instructions on http://www.stu-offroad.com/ site for all of the parts a changed.

    AA Linkage Relocation Bracket

Next on the list of the Tcase linkage relocation bracket, once again with the body this is vary straight forward undo a couple bolts install the bracket and wait for the body to be on to adjust the linkage (which in now completed and easy) Just don't forget to remove the old tub bracket it make it hard to reposition the tub .

    Check engine light

During the tear down I found the reason for the check engine light being on for the last year, stupid emissions line.

    Thanks Tim,

The fronts still has to have a 3 inch flare added to them, just have not had the time to bend them yet, and as for the back they will also get tubed and full length corners in the spring. Had a hell of a time with the engine now i have to replace the F**King fan going electric like I should have in the first place.
