    Receiver Hitch Ball Mount in.

    EDITED...

Hey, Thanks for this Thread By the way! its Great!
most of my questions have been answered..

I hear you can get a ticket for having Ball Mount in the receiver when not in use.
I like to keep mine in..

Also I heard somewhere you are to remove your snow plow mount in the summer?

    Thanks.

As per the rules of this forum, I won't comment on what other Officers have/have not done as far as enforcement goes.

    Hope you understand.....

    Cheers

Without commenting on what other officers may/may not do, is there any laws regarding leaving ball mounts in or snowplows/mounts in place?

The fact that it has already been mentioned that an Officer gave out a ticket for this specifically, would preclude me from answering.....

    Thanks for understanding.

When you have a spare moment, could you cite the legislation that prohibits hitch ball mounts from being mounted in the receiver when not towing a trailer?

BadThumpers ticket notwithstanding, the groups at my rowing club share a truck and one of the other coaches/drivers is a fan of locking the ball mount onto the truck instead of removing it when not towing. (locking hitch pin)

Is this a ticket situation/possibility that I should use to keep him from doing it?

    This is a possibility...

Taken from section 13(2) of the Highway Traffic Act

Every number plate shall be kept free from dirt and obstruction and shall be affixed so that the entire number plate, including the numbers, is plainly visible at all times, and the view of the number plate shall not be obscured or obstructed by spare tires, bumper bars, any part of the vehicle, any attachments to the vehicle or the load carried

that is exactly what it was.. I called the detachment this morning..

as long as it is NOT obstructing your plate it is fine.
