    4.7L Stroker Engine Build/Install...

Ok Well I have had this New 4.7L Stroker Engine in and Running now for just over 1500KM so Its time for an update...

The Engine In My MJ was a Used Engine that I had been Running for around 8 Years and from the get go I had a small coolant loss issue that I could Never Find then One day I found the Problem...

A Cracked Cylinder Wall which the Piston Ring didn't Like meeting...

As many of You know here I have been planning a Stroker build for almost as long as I have Been a Jeepkings Member and had been building slowly a 4.7L Stroker for the past 4 years...

The Head had work done but I didn't get pictures of it but it had Larger SS Valves installed because I will be Supercharging this Engine in the very near Future so internally she is ready for it...

So I Decided to Finish building the Stroker rather then just throwing in a JY Engine...

So A few Specialty Items Ordered up and painted to my colour choices...

    Brown Dog Engine Mount kit

    FlowKooler High Flow Water pump

Degree able Timing Set From Hecso (I wouldn't ever recommend anyone order this as its a rip off and far cheaper to do now that I know thier secret)

Harland Sharp Roller Rockers (non Adjustable)

My recipe Called for 26lbs Injectors but I have found so far the my engine to be happier with my 24lbs Mustang 4 hole injectors but I am still playing with the sizing to get the A/F just Right..

If your looking for Specific Injector Part numbers I don't have that info handy...

I am fortunate to have many different size injectors and a few TB sizes to play around with and I run an A pillar A/F gauge and Fuel Pressure gauge to monitor my engine as I drive or make changes...

Cool build Alex. What are your estimated hp and torque goals?

A few years back I remember Jp magazine doing a stroker and think they had it cranking out 692hp or so. Crazy...

    Thanks guys...

I should be in the 300HP 300 ft/lbs area... Not going to know for sure till I do a Dyno run when I find somewhere around here should I like them that is since not just anyone touches my Trucks...

Once I supercharge it that will bring me into the 400-450HP and ??? ft/lbs...

The JP 692HP Turbo Engine was Cool and maybe I will aim there when I do my Next 5.0L Stroker but until then I think I will be happy with what I got...

For the Most part there are no Secrets and the bore is 60 over which is what makes it a 4.7...

4.2L Crank (Serpentine System so I didn't need to Machine the snout of the crank)
4.0L rods (ARP rod bolts, weight matched with each other and then rotating assembly balanced)
    Forged KB-IC944 Pistons

AutoService Did the Machining and assembly work but they have since sold off their shop and it merged with Hamilton Head and Block...

I Will use your Buddy Dave for all future Machining...

As for that secret well its basically they sell you a stock Timing set then add an Aftermarket degree set and drill out the roll pin alignment hole to 10MM kind of a Huge waste of money and a rip off buying one from Hesco so I wouldn't ever do that again and If I knew I would have went with the MOPAR double roller set and did the mod myself...
