    This Ol' Dodge

My new project- a rolling living room.
A 1984 Dodge B250 Ram Van Starcraft conversion. 4 swivel captains chairs. a 3 seat bench that folds down into a bed. 3 sunroofs. and a now running 318CID V8!
i was wondering if the odo had rolled over as it only said 12052 km on it. there is less wear on the steering wheel than my 2012 Econoline. the original shock absorbers. the oil filter was not a mopar one, but looks like it was installed in the '80s. the Uvip said last time it was registered more than a few years ago, it had just over 7000 km on it. the doors are tight. perfect, actually. less rust on it than on my ZJ. and it cost me just over $12/km, so well worth restoring. the tires were mostly rotten, and thanks to Mudpuppy and Billy Toronto, I"ve already started improvements. More pics to follow, obviously

    Wow, cool project!

It looks like a solid foundation for a fun wagon. I have a soft spot for old Vans, they're the Rodney Dangerfields of the automotive world; they never get any respect!

What sort of mods do you have planned? Or is a restoration to original condition in order?

Looks like a 9.25" rear axle... Or is it an 8.25"

If I was a Jeep, they'd have parted me out a LONG time ago.

I'm a proud member of SOXJA ask me why!

    Krawlerz team member too!

right now- a retro resto, later i would not be surprised to see it as a mild lift and limited slip trailhead /tow rig. and a 4 barrel carb. camping and road trips are big for our family, and the fights in the back seat of the ZJ are getting intense (3 boys - 6yr, 3yr almost, 2/3yr). the urge to use it to drag the Z to moparfest is growing. I wonder which will have the best milage.

It's an 8.25 rear, would be nice to find a 9.25 to swap in, if you're going to do any major towing. Was it originally a 6 (would have been a slant 6 in that year).

originally, and still a 318ci V8. the 2 barrel one unfortunately. but that can change. as for the 4x4 conversion, of course i thought about it. a neighbour has a nice quigley econoline 4x4. think this will stay 2wd. i'd like a lmited slip diff though. might save the funds till i get a bigger axle. got one in my service van, and that's plenty good for a lot of places. right now i'm aiming for drivable and certified. then a functional radio of some kind. might wire up the classic pioneer cassette deck it came with. i still have a pile of cassettes i havent thrown out.

seems after shattering a conn rod on my old bus and laying engine shrapnel all over the trans-can past terrace bay due to a clogged cheap muffler, i have developed a psychological aversion to any fiberfilled muffler. i ordered a flowmaster super 50 for it, just like the zj, and the deranger before it. not the quieter 70 series rv muffler i went in planning to get, but it will be significantly faster to get. hope it isnt too loud in the van. really hoping to get this together soon- i'm nervous something's due on the jeep...

Gotta love the '80's luxo with the velour seats and more!!!!

My uncle has 2 or 3 of these. Not too sure if any of them move anymore but they were always fun to trip around in!

Raybestos 7034 or 7034R...pic shows it is hub and rotor as an assembly (or one piece possibly)...what I found it looks like the were only used on 70s and early 80s...84 B250 being one of the last to use it...likely not going to be an in stock item anywhere, even ordering in might be an issue...

You may have to turn to the interwebs...RockAuto has them listed...maybe try FleaBay...

Al Bundy drove a dodge, and he also scored 4 touch-downs in a single game!

    Cool

    carb - carter 2 barrel
looks fairly clean, inside at least. tomorrow, i'd like to check the timing and if the vacuum advance is working right. and check if there are vac leaks. and i've got to change the driveshaft u-joints, as they have freed up a bit now. a bit too much. then maybe i'll take it for a bit or a test drive
