    Rust Stop?

    Hey Guys,

So tonight I wire wheeled the bottom of my filler piece tub for my project...

With the wire wheel you can't 100% pull all the rust scale off because of the corners and creveses... I'm looking for suggestions on what to apply to the bottom of the tub before I apply primer/paint or some kind of undercoat paint.

    Thanks

Rust Check has this "Rust Converter" product which is mostly phosphoric and tannic acid. Reacts with the rust to form a hard coating of ferric phosphate. I used it on my axle where I couldn't get the wire brush into all the welds, nooks, crannies, and the stupid shock mounts. There are other similar products, I think Naval Jelly does the same thing.
But our trip was different. It was to be a classic affirmation of everything right and true in the national character. A gross physical salute to the fantastic possibilities of life in this country. But only for those with true grit.

And we are chock full of that, man!

Search muriatic acid before doing that, there was a thread about this very thing not long ago and it turns out Muriatic acid is bad news for metal. I can't remember if it was here or on pirate, but do some searching.
