Don't know of anything in Oshawa or Bowmanville...be sure to check all the off limits threads...it is not the be all end all of off limits areas, but it will give you a good start...secondary to that, if you are not sure of the status of an area, ask before going...post up here, somebody will know the info...

Also, just because other people are there (or tell you it is okay) doesn't mean it is...lots of people don't give a shit about an area being off limits and choose to go there anyway.

Ganaraska forest. Requires a permit and enforces "tread lightly" and trail etiquette especially since sharing with horses, hikers, cyclists, bikers, loggers, etc... That's your safest bet. Otherwise go north and be aware of the no go zones as they exist everywhere.

locally known as the sandaraska. very boring, my buddy takes his son in there on the 4 wheelers and even the 8 y.o. thinks its pretty boring. no "trails" per say have to stay on the "roads" inside the forest. and like previously said have to pay to be in there. VERY dusty specially if you are 2nd in line locally there are no legal trails until you get north to bobcaygeon. but there are some unassumed roads in the north end of durham, some of which can be fun depending on the season.
