Cheesy...I am just trying to understand the reasoning of lifting the motor and dropping the trans/tcase output...maybe you could post what you were thinking or led to believe and those of us questioning it can put our two cents in on the situation...

I did my motor lift and body lift to make room for a belly up skid...

There is really only two situations where I could see a motor lift and skid drop making sense, even then I think it would be the half assed way to go about solving the issue...

    1. You have a retarded amount of lift and do NOT have an SYE, and can't get the driveshaft angle happy without doing both the motor lift and skid drop...

    2. You have swapped to a non-stock drivetrain and it is too long to get proper driveshaft angle...

So, what is the problem you are trying to solve by lifting the motor and dropping the skid...help us help you...

ok my jeep network, I have spent almost 2 days goggling, reading old jeep mags and I can't find anything on yes or no as to what I was thinking, I was under the impression that raising the motor and dropping the skid would help get my angle on my axle install. so am I wrong or is this just over kill. on the bright side I have done lots of reading on stuff I didn't know I was gonna need?

a learning experience is one of those things that says, you know that thing you just did...don't do that again.

Like Jeff said. Do you plan to not install an sye? Or are you planning massive lift? I have no related yj experience but it would seem to me without one of those situations it would be overkill.

ok guys, I have been stock piling parts for a bit. baseball kinda takes all my time from may to Sept. but after having the honor of driving Marc's jeep to the show in Brantford, I just backed out of two of three major tournaments hunting for a few things and we are back on it starting Monday after work. I know, I know 6 months..... like I said to the wife, I don't recall which 6 months. so now that I drove that rig, game on........I think that was the kick in the @ss I needed. Thanx BBD for letting me drive that rig.

Glad to see you have some refreshed motivation. Git 'er done.
93 YJ - Stock 2.5L inline 4, 4" Rough Country Lift, 1.5" Shackles, 33" BFG's, SYE yet to be installed, Raptor Liner Sprayed, CB, Stereo that goes BooM, Aussie locker front, XJ solid shafts, tube fenders by Tubular Metalworx, 8500lb winch, Garvin swing away tire carrier and clearly far too much time on my hands. No roof, no doors and two screaming kids in the back.
