    Long Distance Riders/Iron Butt Association

Any Long distance riders on here ever wanted to challenge yourself and your machine?
Earning membership into the Iron Butt Association, was one of my greatest challenges/achievements.

I have been riding long distance for over 30yrs. Many days touring over a 1000kms in a day no problem. This was by far more grooling than riding to the west coast and back...LOL. A big part of this is the mental fatigue. You must verify everything along your route. All gas receipts must be time stamped and jive with documented mileage. Loss of one receipt is a DNF.

That's some good riding!! I'd get a DNF as losing receipts is something I do without even trying.

I know a few SS guys who did it last year in the fall. Unfortunately the weather was not great and half the group backed out do to snow in the north.

It was early May when I did this and it was 2` from Sudbury to Ottawa. All part of the deal. LOL
I wasn't backing out for nothing. My shifter linkage broke at 355kms and really ticked me off. But 2 zip-ties criss-crossed put it back together and held for a week till I got the new one.
