    1982 TOYOTA Truck Hilux build

There is a little story how I found this old toyota truck. Eleven years ago we had a bidding war on a nice property in Simcoe. It was my house I wanted to retire and fix my heep. I was sold because it had 2 car garage, brick bungallow. Well I didn't get my dream house. Family from Alberta moved in and brought this truck with them. I met the owner, a nurse at our local hospital two weeks later and told her thanks for taking my dream house kidding aside of course. I told her that I like her husband Toyota.

Four years comes by Jeannie(nurse) offered to sell the truck to me even though her husband was not interested of selling. I continued to bug Brian(truck owner 20plus yrs) for 6 months to sell me the truck. Finally he sold the toy to me.

I started to read on Marlin Furom and I'm impressed how capable this little trucks in stock form.

It took me 6yrs to build. I learned to weld, do body work and shoot paint and break rusted bolts.

For now the truck is going to be my sunday driver. I have silver wheels insurance.

The truck is now 98% complete, plated. I will be adding pics in the next few days.

I hope you like it, if you have any Qs, comments fire away.

    Specs
1982 SR5 long box, 4X4 manual hubs, factory SOA , 410 gears, factory shackle reversal, 22R 4Cl carb, 5spd, full gauges, tilt sterring, int wiper, I like the best is my 5 memory push button AM/FM radio. 230xxx km runs like a champ.

    7 foot box was junk

I found a short box and added 6'' on the cab side so my tire is centred in the wheel well

Thanks Chippawa. Like I said earlier it took me nearly 6yrs to get the toy where it is now. I feel how some ppl loose interest, I came very close manny times.

I will have to google that 82 mohave toy. I have seen some trekker and wolverine, they sure looks killer.

I use these trucks when I work over sea's. They perform great. I only hate the under leaf axle setup, but great trail trucks
