    Looking at half doors

I have been looking for a set of half doors. I have seen plastic ones and steel ones.
I am interested in anyone's experience or thoughts on what to buy.

    Thanks
    I now understand

    Looking at half doors

I've had both full soft and steel half doors.

It's a matter of preference. I run my soft doors in summer because I have them fully off any nice day and they are easy enough to lift off and stick in the back. You can also split them into half doors but they are not as easy to split as the half steel.
Half steel are easy to take the top half off but the bottoms are a pain and storage isn't as easy.

So to sum it up... If you mostly plan on leaving the bottoms on half steels are good. You can also get the uppers with real glass sliders so winter use is more bearable.

    Thanks Guys,

I don't use the TJ in the winter at all. I am thinking of something more than tube doors, I don't mind having the doors off, I am am looking for some splash protection when driving and a bit of privacy when parked.
I should have asked about the differences between plastic/ steel from an aesthetics and paintability point of view. I know a lot of plastic gets painted now a days, but I am not sure if the quality of the parts is enough to look good when painted a bright colour.

Sounds to me like you're the right kind of guy for 2 pc full soft doors.

You get a window in case it rains.
You get splash protection for driving around.
They come off in all of 2 seconds.
They are relatively cheap in the grand scheme of Jeeps.
