    Interested in Jeep yj. Thoughts???

So I've found a Yj. I think its a 95, not entriely sure... Its had a paintjob, its a 2.5 litre with an ax5, it has a hardtop with a wiper so its gotta be made after '90, its got next to new winter rubbers on it (all five tires), no hitch not that it matters, frame looks to be good (mind you I have not inspected this truck top to bottom, just a few quick glances), the body has its normal rust spots but overall is really nice looking, it has been sitting on the property of a family run deli near Cookstown, Ontario for about a year now. I havent heard the rig run as of yet. It looks to be all stock in regards to parts (except tires), and the cloth seats up front look pretty nice although there's no bench in the back. Thats about all I know at the moment, I hope to go take a harder look during the march break when the owner is actually present. Check out some pictures I have below and let me know what you guys think!!! Thanx!!!

275000 kms manual. frame was solid, but it was just a quick peek, not too in-depth.

Just throwing this out there, if you are not in a rush and not picky (I doubt you are picky if you are considering a YJ), you can find an early TJ for not much more money.

If it's been sitting a while keep in mind that the brakes, ball joints etc, may all need serviced or replaced, let himknow that when you make the offer, mine needed all the front ball joints and brake rotors replaced, that was about a grand right there.

thing is to, tj's ride better on the highway I have found than a yj. Also tj's don't tend to rot out as fast/as much as a yj. But again all depends on what you wana do with it and intrests.

    Interested in Jeep yj. Thoughts???

Being a YJ owner. I would most certainly say that if you are unable to do frame repairs/ body repairs etc yourself. It's the wrong jeep for you. Don't get me wrong, I love my YJ but if you can't it will be costly.

Wether it looks like its in good shape or not there is most certainly going to be a time in the not to distant future that the rear frame will need to be replaced. The front two body mounts will crush and the lower A pillar will need to be repaired. Amongst other things that you will inevitably come across.

Now if you are able to. That's a completely different story. They are easier to repair than most TJ's. (although not everyone will agree) and there's something to be said about the square headlights.
My latest project... Collection of Parts

Other stuff... Building a doubler, D300 Flip kit
