    Interested in Jeep yj. Thoughts???

I'm just goofing, a TJ is likely the best jeep platform.. I started with a Cherokee, went to a JK, and I'm now on a YJ, I just want to exhaust all of the other options first

One thing to consider is, if you are going to make any engine mods, you need to be older thana certain age ( I think it is 98,but not sure )

Unless they changed the cut-off date rules yet again and I missed it, the 20 year rule was abolished.

1988 and up vehicles get emissions tested regardless of how old the vehicle is.

That's what I was told last year as well. Now the guy who did mine said he won't do the older vehicles. I've got 2 months left on my E-test before it expires so I best get my new sticker for the Heep. Not sure what I'm gonna do next time it's up for renewal.

i was just thinking the exact same thing, and you could have coils front and rear. some people like yjs to each their own.

The rules don't stipulate anything like that which I have ever seen. There are multiple tests depending on the year and type of vehicle as well as the fuel it uses. Not all shops are are outfitted and certified to conduct all of the tests. I'd be surprised if there was one shop that was capable of performing all of the tests. Many are shops are choosing NOT to take on the 98 and down test or certain diesel tests.

then it may be just around the Ottawa valley that the shops have it all.

it should be mandated that certified check stations should have all neccisary equipment.
