    Bike Mechanic needed

Well I have come to the conclusion that I am in need of some help with the bike I inherited. Its not much of anything a 1984 Shadow 750 in need of some TLC. I know enough about bikes to keep myself interested and then pissed off because I cant get it to run.

I was hoping someone could let me know of a good mechanic close to Burlington that could help me out. even if they say don't waste your time I could at least move on instead of wasting my time hearing it sputter but not come to life.

anyway pm or post with any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

Charge up the battery, change the oil, check the plugs, my old Yamaha would only run with the gaps on the small side of specs, close the gap a bit. Make sure it has fuel, fuel in the bowl, I would take the carb off and go over the fuel passages, clean the jets, let it soak in some cleaner overnight first to soften the varnish up

    Re: Bike Mechanic needed

The guys at Burlington cycle are good folks. There is also TSR out in Georgetown. You need a mechanic who is familiar with the older bikes and carbs. These guys are used to your situation. Too many seem to not know the older engines well enough that it'll cause future headaches and larger bills.... Especially if they tinker with the carb and screw it up.
