    National Flag

Just wondering the legalities using our flag like this on our vehicles?

Don't know of any legalities, but you can check out protocol here:

I had read that extensively... and, that prompted me to ask the question.

the only part that would make me shy away would be..
"Affixed on a motor vehicle, The flag must be on a pole firmly fixed to the chassis on the front right."
    and also,
"•The National Flag of Canada should not be used as table/seat cover, as a masking for boxes or as a barrier on a dais or platform."

It is also a given, to not alter or deface the flag in its entirety in any way shape or form... so if this application was in use, tarp ties to secure it? Thereby preventing any damage to the national flag? You can, however, add a border to it, as long as it doesn't change the flag. And then you could make changes to the border?

I apologize for all of the questions about something that to some may seem trivial. I would hate to be brought up on federal charges for doing something that many would view as innocent when using our national flag on a vehicle in an inappropriate manner.

    Re: National Flag

I'm going to suggest that you start a spin-off thread in "off topic" to perhaps get some input from our military/former military members.

While versed in some of the protocol, I am more familiar with items such as raising and lowering, placement on vessels, etc.

Edit: In my experience, as long as you're not disrespecting the flag, usually its ok. And no need to apologize, I am glad you would ask. Many people have no idea of protocol and disrespect the flag without even being aware of it.
